ISG wins top interior award for UAE project
DUBAI, October 3, 2016
ISG Middle East, a leading construction services company, said one of its UAE projects has been named the ‘Interior Fit Out Project of the Year’ at the prestigious Commercial Interior Design Awards ceremony held in Dubai, UAE.
ISG said it clinched the prestigious award for its work on the refurbishment of the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates.
Simon Barlow, the chief executive of Hotels at Majid Al Futtaim (Properties), said: "Connected to Majid Al Futtaim’s flagship destination, Mall of the Emirates, the Kempinski Hotel is one of our most successful developments."
The investment behind the hotel refurbishment solidifies its position as a leading luxury hospitality destination in the UAE and ensures that it offers guests the very latest in design, technology and architecture, he noted.
ISG Middle East and Majid Al Futtaim have worked closely with the Kempinski Hotel team to transform the guest rooms in line with the hotel’s five-star standard that demonstrates the brand’s style and personality.
"All 373 guest rooms and suites were extensively renovated along with the 20 stunning Aspen Chalets – a hotel within a hotel – that marry the contrasting worlds of the subzero snow experience of Ski Dubai and the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf," stated the official.
"We are honoured to receive the award for Fit Out Project of the Year as it recognises the dedication and seamless efforts from the Majid Al Futtaim and ISG Middle East teams to deliver the project to the best quality standards," said Barlow.
The scope of work included the refurbishment of all the external façades, the addition of a new façade lighting scheme, the building of a new external terrace, that serves as an outdoor dining and cocktail lounge space besides the upgrade of the hotel reception area to include an all-day dining facility.
The full works were completed in a live 24/7 environment, which was particularly important as the hotel remained open to the public throughout the refurbishment period.
On the win, Steve Ramsden, the managing director of ISG Middle East, said: "It has been an exceptional year for ISG, and it is great that the market is taking notice and that our work on Kempinski Mall of Emirates Hotel is formally recognised."
ISG Middle East achieved record 2015 results posting a 47 per cent increase in yearly revenue which soared to over Dh283 million ($77 million), with operating profit increasing by 130 per cent to Dh8.3 million ($21.84 million).
The company is also currently undertaking a number of large-scale corporate fit-out projects, particularly in DIFC, Emaar Business Park and Abu Dhabi Global Market Square. ISG had earlier won the Fit Out Contractor of the Year Award in 2011 and 2013.-TradeArabia News Service
