CBRE to manage prime Bahrain retail property

MANAMA, July 12, 2016

CBRE, a global real estate advisory firm, has been appointed as the exclusive manager for Seef Corner in Bahrain by the property owners, the Humaidan family.

Seef Corner is a 1,827-sq-m retail development situated in a prominent position in Seef District. Each unit is double height with a pre-built mezzanine providing a total of 200 sq m each, with shopfronts visible from the main road.

The appointment marks the 19th instruction for CBRE in Bahrain, which manages eight commercial office properties, five retail developments, five residential buildings and compounds as well as a large industrial facility, stated Richard Botham, the senior director and general manager, CBRE Bahrain, after signing the deal with the property owner Mohammed Humaidan.

The event was also attended by James Lynn, the director, and Heather Longden, the associate director of CBRE Bahrain.

"Seef Corner is a well-established retail development in a strategic location near City Centre shopping mall. The property already has a range of tenants in operation including: House of Travel, CaliBurger, Creolate Chocolatier and Cake Boutique," said Botham.

"There are also opportunities for other retailers to launch brands here in a location that provides great exposure and in a professionally run complex," he remarked.

“Seef Corner taps into the trend of the development of alternative retail development in the kingdom. Traditionally larger destination malls in the capital were the main providers of shopping and leisure options, however, now smaller complexes providing unique dining options and community centres with essential services are growing in number,” stated Botham.

Humaidan said: "We are delighted to announce the appointment of CBRE as our strategic partners for Seef Corner. The property is already a highly sought-after location, providing great facilities for retailers and customers alike, which includes an air-conditioned passage way to shops and restaurants as well as ample off-street parking and 24-hour security."
