Egyptian group starts work on key residential project

CAIRO, June 12, 2016

Egypt's leading construction company Mokhtar Ibrahim is developing a new residential city on a 2.1 million sq m area in the coastal Al Alamein region of Egypt at an investment of E£400 million ($45 million), said a report.

The Al Alamein governorate was created in 2014 on the orders of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi who had also declared the creation of two other governorates - Central Sinai and Al-Wahat - in bid to boost development in these areas, reported Amwal Alghad.

Earlier this year, the cabinet had assigned Mokhtar Ibrahim and Arab Contractors to carry out part of the infrastructure for the first phase of the new Alamein project, it stated.

As per the deal, the Egyptian group will carry out water, sanitation, roads, irrigation, electricity, and utilities works in the first district A spread over 1.19 million sq m and district D with a 1.05 million sq m area.
