Intercoil International, a leading manufacturer, retailer and distributor of premium beds, bedding and bedroom furniture, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Dammam to cater to Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing hospitality sector.

Boasting state-of-the-art technology, the 4,400-sq-m factory will manufacture premium mattresses and a wide range of quality bedroom furniture in a variety of finishes, said a statement from the company.

Production at the facility will begin with a daily capacity of 500 mattresses and 200 bedroom furniture pieces, with plans to double mattress capacity within the next three years, it said.

Located in the Dammam Second Industrial Area, the new manufacturing facility will cater to Intercoil’s five showrooms already operating around the kingdom, in Jeddah, Dammam, al Khobar, Jubail and Al Ahsa, with Riyadh set to open in the upcoming months, it stated.

The opening comes at a time when religious and business tourism sectors are thriving in the region due to the expansion of Holy Mosques, governmental diversification efforts, logistical upgrades and a growing meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions (Mice) segment, it added.

Religious tourism numbers alone are expected to jump from 17.5 million in 2014 to 25 to 30 million by 2025, and with premium hotels dominating Saudi Arabia’s hospitality industry, demand for luxury brands is expected to continue, said the statement.

Manufactured and distributed in Saudi Arabia exclusively by Intercoil, the Beautyrest mattress is one of several high quality, highly durable, eco-friendly mattresses on offer in the company’s extensive range that will cater to all demands, including the kingdom’s developing mid-range hotel segment.
