PEIE to set up new sewage treatment plant for Rusayl

MUSCAT, April 25, 2016

Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) has commenced implementation of a new sewage treatment plant estimated at RO1.4 million ($3.64 million) for Rusayl Industrial Estate.

The project is expected to have an operating capacity reaching 4,000 cu m per day, said a statement from the company.

Mohsin Al Hinai, director-general of Rusayl Industrial Estate, said: "The implementation process of the project takes into account the use of latest technology in sewage treatment and control of odour emissions as well as the quality of water treatment."

"The plant, which is expected to start operation at the beginning of next year, will be controlled automatically by a supervisory control and data acquisition (Scada) system which allows efficient monitoring and control," he said.

Scada is a computer system for gathering and analysing real-time data.

Al Hinai added that the new plant will replace the current one which has been installed for more than 30 years.

He noted that the new plant will adopt an advanced system with an increase in the capacity. - TradeArabia News Service
