Analysts offer insights into $1bn Bahrain airport project

MANAMA, April 24, 2016

A team of professional market researchers from Gulf Projects.me will provide updates on Bahrain International Airport’s expansion project during the gulfBID 2016 exhibition this week.

The Airport Modernisation Programme (AMP) of Bahrain International Airport aims to double the airport’s capacity from 7 million to 14 million passengers per year. It will boost the kingdom’s aviation industry, which is an integral part of Bahrain’s national gateway facilities, infrastructure and services.

The seminar will take place on Wednesday (April 27) at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre between 10 am and 11 am.

Gulf Projects.me is the virtual home of Gulf projects and tenders with an extensive database of GCC projects. The project intelligence database draws on the accumulated market knowledge of Al Hilal Group, one of the GCC’s most respected trade publishers with over 40 years’ of  experience across construction, infrastructure, oil and gas, industrial and other key sectors.

The seminar is part of an ongoing programme of project information analysis to help interested companies and investors review their business development strategies, said Ahmed Suleiman, exhibitions director of Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE), the organiser of gulfBID.

“Bahrain is at the centre of a number of high profile construction projects, and the airport expansion is the kingdom’s largest infrastructure project worth $1 billion. The expansion includes a new passenger terminal, 24 airport bridges, new arrival and departure lounges and loading bays. Works on the Airport Modernisation Programme (AMP) are expected to be completed in the first half of 2020”, said Abdul Muneer, head of research at Gulf Projects.me.

Gulf Projects.me provides a detailed insight into projects from nine key sectors, giving in-depth information of the projects from feasibility up to commissioning stage.

gulfBID takes place from April 26 to 28 alongside two other major exhibitions: Gulf Interiors and Gulf Property show, thus ensuring the continued success of the biggest integrated business-to-business showcase for the construction, interiors and property sectors ever to be staged in the Northern Gulf.
