Dubai sees $6.8bn mixed-use project on track

The first phase of the Dh25-billion ($6.8 billion) Dubai One Project being developed at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum City in Dubai, UAE, is scheduled for completion by 2020, said a report.
It will come up on a 50-million-sq-m area offering a range of striking features and activities including parks, man-made beaches and a 7-km stretch of Crystal Lagoons offering a true beachside and active lifestyle, according to the state news agency Wam.
UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, reviewed the progress of the Dubai One Project, located between Meydan and Al Khail Road.
By the time of the project completion, Dubai’s population is forecast to reach 3.4 million, stated the report.
Sheikh Mohammed, who was accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, inspected the project's show villas, featuring Modern Arabic, Mediterranean, and Contemporary styles.
The Dubai ruler lauded the architectural designs of the villas and the project in general describing it as an integrated and smart project.
He then endorsed the project and directed the speedy implementation of all the four phases, it added.
