Imdaad wins environmental sustainability award
DUBAI, February 17, 2016
Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities, environment and energy management solutions in the GCC, has won second place in the ‘Environmental Protection’ category of the eighth Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (Dast) instituted by the emirate's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The award is the latest addition to Imdaad’s string of honours for its environmental sustainability and protection efforts in line with the UAE’s environmental goals and objectives, said a statement from the company.
The facilities management (FM) company received the recognition at a special awards ceremony held recently.
In conferring the award, the panel of judges cited Imdaad’s key initiatives and their positive impact on the organisation, individuals and society as a whole.
Some of these programmes include air, noise and material pollution reduction; use of biodiesel as an alternative fuel; optimised fleet management solution; vehicle sound emission testing and monitoring; tyre rethreading and recycling; and lubricant recycling.
On the top honours, CEO Jamal Abdullah Lootah said: "The RTA-Dast award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to contribute to the government’s environmental sustainability and protection initiatives. We have aligned our programmes accordingly to demonstrate our active participation in the nationwide efforts to address relevant environmental concerns."
"Our programmes have led to many milestones and positive results, further inspiring us to create more innovative ideas. We extend our gratitude to the panel of judges for this new recognition as we vow to remain steadfast in our environmental goals," he added.
Imdaad has pioneered environmental sustainability in the facilities and environmental management industry and was among the first to be awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 (Environmental Management) certificate as early as 2006.
It has also been certified for ISO 9001 (quality management system) and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSAS) 18001 standards since 2006.-TradeArabia News Service
