Konecranes ... adopting a systematic approach to maintenance.

Konecranes unveils new maintenance programme in ME

DUBAI, February 9, 2016

Konecranes, a leading provider of lifting solutions, has launched a comprehensive maintenance programme that supports long-term safety and performance in the Middle East.

The move comes as part of its comprehensive and systematic approach to maintenance, said a statement from the Finland-based company.

The Lifecycle Care is a systematic, consistent, comprehensive and professional approach to maintenance, supported by world-class tools and processes, it stated.

Under the scheme, Konecranes will offer a variety of consultation services that can provide a deeper analysis of a customer's lifting equipment and help identify improvement oppportunities.

The foundation of Lifecycle Care is inspections and preventive maintenance, it added.

Konecranes said it tailors its care preventive maintenance program to customers’ operations and takes into account crane usage, the operating environment, duty classification, manufacturer’s recommendations and local regulations.

Trained technicians can provide equipment analyses beyond simple visual inspection, such as: RopeQ Magnetic Rope Inspection, which analyses the condition of internal wires, strands and wire rope core; RailQ Crane Runway Survey, which uses a remotely operated robot to analyse the alignment of the crane rails; and CraneQ Crane Geometric Survey, which provides an accurate geometric analysis of the crane.

According to Konecranes, the group's consultative approach can help guide customer decision-making. The consultants take time to meet the customers for providing recommendations based on industry-leading expertise.

"We don’t just drop off a report on our way out but take the time to share our findings and discuss how each action impacts the operation of our customer," explained Shankara Rao, the service manager at Konecranes in Saudi Arabia.

"With our industry-leading technology and non-destructive testing, we can uncover latent or hidden defects with minimum disruption," he said.-TradeArabia News Service
