Empower sees good response at energy summit

DUBAI, January 19, 2016

UAE-based Empower said it had received an overwhelming response from international delegations for its district cooling technologies at the ongoing World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi.  

On the first two days of the summit, Empower's officials updated visitors on its recent achievements and the broader global and regional development of the district cooling industry as far as sustainability and efficiency are concerned.

At the expo, Empower is showcasing its third district cooling plant in Business Bay that boasts an initial capacity of 20,000 Refrigeration Tons (RT) to be connected to the buildings by the end of March whereas the balance capacity of the plant will be connected in May this year.

A leading annual global event committed to advancing future energy and clean technology, WFES concludes on Thursday (January 21) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

It is the most prominent event that provides an ideal platform to debate latest development in renewable energy, energy efficiency and clean energy.

Lauding the solid response, CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar said international delegations visited Empower’s stand following an outreach campaign conducted by the company to promote the district cooling technology as an ideal solution of sustainability and energy efficiency.

“The presence of international organisations at the summit acknowledges the leading role of the UAE in the environmental sustainability sphere,” remarked Bin Shafar.

"We have witnessed in the first two days of the exhibition visits to our stand which shows the greater awareness district cooling is achieving among energy decision makers and specialists as a sustainability alternative to conventional cooling systems," he added.

An upbeat Bin Shafar said the 2015 financial results of Empower will be out soon and the company will achieve high growth in profits compared to the previous year.

“Leveraging on the past achievements, the growth of Empower will continue in 2016 as far as expansion, availability of services, energy conservation and sustainability are concerned,” he added.

Empower operates more than 1 Million Refrigeration Tons (RT), providing environmentally friendly district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah,  Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District.-TradeArabia News Service
