Aces wins Qatar 2022 stadium study contract

Arab Center for Engineering Studies (ACES) has been awarded the geotechnical investigation contract for one of the host venues for the 2022 Fifa World Cup.
The 40,000-seat stadium located in Al Thumama, Qatar, is expected to host several World Cup 2022 matches up to the quarter-finals stage. The stadium is part of the sports complex used by the Qatar Football Association Technical Committee.
The geotechnical investigation contract for the Fifa Fifth Precinct Stadium venue was awarded by Qatari architectural company Arab Engineering Bureau (AEB).
The scope of work includes drilling of over 50 boreholes with depths ranging between 15 and 50 m, installing piezometers, conducting field tests including falling head permeability, Packer, pressuremeter and dissipation, and geophysical logging of multichannel analysis of surface waves.
Aces is proud of its continued involvement in constructing the world-class facilities for the Qatar World Cup 2022, as it has completed the geotechnical investigations for Al Rayyan Stadium, Al Khor Stadium, and Khalifa International Stadium, said a company spokesman.
Additionally, ACES is conducting the material testing for Wakra Stadium, and quality control works for Khalifa International Stadium, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
