World's first 'Floating Seahorse' nears completion in Dubai

Kleindienst Group, an established real estate and property developer, has announced that the first units of its Floating Seahorse, a marine-style retreat, are getting its finishing touches at the dry docks in Dubai, UAE.
An aesthetically-designed contemporary marine-style product, the Floating Seahorse reached its substantial completion on December 15, said a statement from the German firm.
The group celebrated the structural completion of the world’s first Floating Seahorse at the Burj Al Arab on December 15.
After months of undertaking research, tenders and due diligence, Kleindienst and The Heart of Europe teamed up with key contractors and suppliers to fabricate the marine-style retreat which is essentially a boat.
More than 200 specialists and professionals from 25 different countries were involved in the grand project.
Kleindienst Group said over 5,000 hours have been invested in research and development and more than 13,000 hours went into the design and engineering.
A first-of-its-kind marine-style retreat, The Floating Seahorse has been intelligently designed, engineered and developed in Dubai.
It has beeen uniquely fabricated using high quality marine approved materials and technology, said the German firm.
Weighing 188 tonnes, each Floating Seahorse will feature three levels including an underwater master bedroom and bathroom.
The master bedroom and bathroom will be totally submerged underwater and will command breathtaking views of the surrounding coral reef and marine life, said the company in a statement.
The sea level accommodation will boast floor-to-ceiling windows, uninterrupted sea views, a fully-fitted kitchen with a dining area, an open-plan living area and when the glass façade opens the sun deck becomes an extension of the living space, it added.
The upper deck is the perfect place for alfresco dining and relaxation and features an informal bed, a mini bar, a kitchenette and a beautiful glass-bottomed Jacuzzi. The deck can be converted into a winter bedroom which can be enclosed with retractable drapes.
It boasts 25 sq m of underwater glazing and a coral garden spanning 46 sq m. The underwater level of The Floating Seahorse will be the idyllic environment in which seahorses can live and breed in their natural habitat in The Arabian Gulf.
Only 42 units of these have been launched in Dubai.
Since its launch, the iconic product has sparked a great deal of interest in the media and among clients and investors in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Maldives, Seychelles, The Caribbean, Sweden, Portugal and Norway.
Kleindienst is guaranteeing an eight per cent annual return on investment (ROI) with this novel The Floating Seahorse project.
The units at the exclusive floating retreat are aimed specifically at independent bespoke investors, who want a guaranteed minimum return for a modest capital outlay, said the luxury developer.
