Egypt’s ECCT wins renewal deal for metro line

Egyptian Company for Contracting & Trading (ECCT) has won a renewal contract to implement the infrastructure for the fourth metro line at a cost of EGP38.6 million ($4.8 million), a report said.

The tender was awarded by the Egyptian National Authority for Tunnels (NTA), reported Daily News Egypt.

The scope of work includes changing the routes of the underground infrastructure network for the first part of the first phase of the fourth metro line, added the report, highlighting that this phase includes five stations.

The ECCT was also assigned with changing the infrastructure network for the second part of the first phase of the fourth metro line at a cost of EGP38.5 million for seven stations.

NTA has also picked the French company Vinci and the Spanish firm OHL to qualify for the next stage of implementation on the third phase of the third line, the report said.
