Dewa wins integrated management systems recertification

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has been re-certified in Integrated Management Systems by Bureau Veritas, a global leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC).
The re-certification was issued after being audited by Bureau Veritas, said a statement from the Dubai's utility firm.
The move reflects Dewa’s ongoing commitment to integrate efficient administrative systems, to the benefit of clients, partners, and employees.
The renewal of Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety, Management Systems demonstrates Dewa’s adherence to the highest of international standards, it stated.
Dewa said it has renewed the Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2008, accredited by ANAB, thus reflecting its intensive efforts to improve the quality of management system, and enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements.
The company also renewed the Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001:2004, accredited by ANAB.
This reflects its support for environmental protection and prevention of pollution along with other socio-economic needs in the fight against climate change, said the statement.
In addition, the Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems OHSAS 18001:2007 Certificate has been renewed as well, reflecting its efforts to enhance performance in occupational health and safety.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the managing director and CEO said the re-certification showed that Dewa was effectively using quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety, management systems in all operations.
"The IMS re-certification is a result of quality, excellence, and its adherence to the highest of standards among all environmental, and occupational health and safety operations," noted Al Tayer.
