Daikin launches new product range in UAE

DUBAI, December 20, 2015

Daikin, a leader in manufacturing and production of cooling and heating solutions, has launched its new Esma (Emirates Authority for Standardization and Methodology)-compliant product range in the UAE.

The products were introduced during the 2015 Annual Dealer Event, held at Dubai in the presence of its key dealers and installers across the country.

Esma, an UAE’s federal authority, previously announced the new regulations for electrical products, which were implemented last month.

The new regulation (UAE.S 5010-1:2014) is an upgrade of the existing standard for non-ducted (room) air-conditioners which raises the MEPS (minimum energy performance standards) by 15 per cent and provides a new energy label (with new standard), said a statement from the company.

Additionally, another new standard (UAE.S 5010-5:2011) for commercial and industrial (ducted, chillers, rooftops, VRF) air conditioners with MEPS was introduced.

The new products launched include the FTKM Series (featuring cutting edge technology inspired by local needs), that is the first GCC high ambient R-32 inverter split air-conditioner in line with Daikin’s worldwide free access 93 patents on equipment using for  using next generation R-32 refrigerant, it stated.

Also, the FTNK Series (beautifully intelligent) the first oriental designed split unit which won The Good Design Award - Japan 2015 is included in the new products launched. The unit has a stylish design made to meet local taste of high end premium life styles, said the statement.

Other products included the FTN Series, Ducted series, Cassette Series, Rooftop series, and VRV Series to cover all applications from residential apartments, villas to commercial buildings, it added.

All new products are high in EER (energy efficiency rating), non HCFC (hydrochlorofluorocarbons), and lower carbon dioxide emissions, remarked Geoff Watson, the deputy general manager and dealer development manager.

Highlighting the importance of the UAE market, Watson said Daikin was actively contributing towards the air-conditioning sector through development of a full new product line-up specially designed to meet the high ambient conditions.

These products exceed local and regional regulator’s MEPS while contributing to the reduction of the energy bill of the country, he stated.

"Our focus is to increase and strengthen the dealers’/installers’ capabilities and product knowledge through Daikin’s technical and training support, spare part centres, after-sales support and dedicated sales and consulting teams," he added. -TradeArabia News Service
