Damac backs Dubai Sustainable Cities Summit
DUBAI, December 15, 2015
Luxury real estate developer Damac Properties has entered strategic partnership with Dubai Land Department for its Dubai Sustainable Cities Summit (DSCS) to be held on December 17 at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, UAE.
The event will gather specialists from various fields to discuss and explain how Dubai and other cities from around the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region can learn from the wisdom and experiences of others.
Majida Ali Rashid, assistant director general of Dubai Land Department, and head of Investment Management and Promotion Centre, said: “The Dubai Sustainable Cities Summit is different compared to other events that focus on environmental and energy issues. Although these are very important topics, the DSCS focuses mainly on sustainable strategies from the context of an urban built environment.
“We welcome Damac’s strategic partnership with us for this event, where we count on major Dubai-based companies to help us in achieving UAE’s strategic plans for the future regarding sustainability.”
Ziad El Chaar, managing director, Damac Properties, stressed the importance and relevance of this event, saying: “The DSCS provides an important forum to share and debate the best practices in sustainability with the most influential people in this domain and in the most relevant city, Dubai, which is leading on this front in the entire region.”
El Chaar added: “We are proud to be associated with this international event and with the Land Department in Dubai, and Damac is working continuously within the directions of the local authorities with regard to building greener and more sustainable city in Dubai.”
The DSCS is open to delegates who have an interest in sustainability drawn from the region. Government departments, industry experts, businesses, technology specialists, consultants and educators can request an invitation by completing the form on the Delegates section of the event’s website dubaisustainablecities.ae. – TradeArabia News Service
