Construction of Aluminium Bahrain’s (Alba) $3.5 billion sixth potline is set to begin next year with metal production expected by January 2019, chief executive Tim Murray said yesterday (December 8).

Addressing members and guests at the American Chamber of Commerce Bahrain (AmCham)’s business networking luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, Murray said the project will boost the smelter’s annual output by 514,000 tonnes to 1.45 million tonnes a year, according to a report in the Gulf Daily News,our sister publication.
