Bahrain mulls new property development course
MANAMA, November 30, 2015
Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company said it held discussions with Bahrain Polytechnic to design a higher education property development programme which is tailored to meet market demands.
It will be launched by Bahrain Polytechnic's Business School upon the completion of its research, said Mumtalakat which hosted a focus group session on property development with Bahrain Polytechnic.
The session, held at Mumtalakat’s offices, brought together executives from Mumtalakat, Bahrain Real Estate Investments (Edamah), Bahrain Polytechnic, and other key leaders in the real estate industry.
Commenting on the programme, Mumtalakat CEO Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji, said it will be the first property development degree to be offered in Bahrain.
The programme will provide Bahrainis and other students with the skills required to further develop their current and potential careers in the real estate industry, stated Al Kooheji.
“We are honoured to have participated alongside other industry leaders in this focus group to help Bahrain Polytechnic fill the gaps in property development education. Our aim is to deliver long-term value for Bahrain, and by supporting such educational initiatives, it can take part in the development of skilled leaders who will play an integral role in driving future economic growth," he noted.
Acting CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, Dr Mohamed Al Aseeri, said: "When we develop our programmes at the Polytechnic, we ensure it’s based on local labor market requirements, including regional and international markets."
