UPAC completes auto parking installation work

KUWAIT, November 29, 2015

United Projects for Aviation Services Company (UPAC), a leading commercial real estate and facilities management company, said it has completed Phase Two of the installation of a new automated car parking system at the Kuwait International Airport.

This car park system, a first-of-its-kind in Kuwait, will help streamline vehicle traffic in and out of the car park and reduce congestion, especially during peak hours and busy travel seasons, said the company in a statement.

UPAC operates and manages all commercial space at the airport, including the airport mall and car park with 2200 spaces for long and short term parking.

Earlier this year, the company had completed the first phase of the project.

UPAC said it has now successfully completed Phase Two by installing two auto pay units in the airport terminal.

These units reduce the waiting time for visitors, who can now pay their parking fees at the auto pay units before exiting the airport terminal and leave the parking faster via one of the three dedicated auto pay exits.

On the project, Nadia Akil, the chief executive of UPAC, said: "We are excited to be the first company to introduce this advanced car parking technology to Kuwait. Our priority is to manage the airport efficiently and that includes ensuring visitors have the best experience."

"We are confident the new automated car park technology will make parking at Kuwait International Airport more user-friendly, smoother and quicker," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
