UTC partners with Qatar construction group

DOHA, November 23, 2015

United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a leading provider of building technologies, has partnered with regional construction group ENSRV for the distribution and servicing of Otis elevators and escalators besides the fire and security products from UTC Climate, Controls & Security in Qatar.

Both Otis and the climate, controls & security are units of UTC, which promotes integrated, high performance buildings through safer, smarter and sustainable products.

ENSRV, a company wholly owned by J&A Jaidah Holdings, said these agreements build on the longstanding business relationship between its affiliates and that of Carrier Corporation, which have been joint venture partners since 1999 in the distribution and servicing of Carrier-branded heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.

Headquartered in Doha, the joint venture company now operates as United Technologies Building and Industrial Systems WLL to reflect the expanded product offering.

"In addition to Carrier systems, the joint venture will now sell and service elevators and escalators from Otis, the world’s largest manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, as well as building automation and fire and security products from UTC Climate, Controls & Security brands Automated Logic, GST, Edwards and Lenel," remarked Jassim Jaidah, the chairman of J&A Jaidah Holdings and ENSRV Group.

“The expanded business relationship with UTC allows us to offer new levels of choice and innovation to support Qatar’s ambitious growth and infrastructure plans, and to help develop intelligent and sustainable urban communities,” he added.

Rolando Furlong, the vice president, Otis and UTC Climate, Controls & Security, Middle East, said: "With Qatar’s strong growth in urban development and new buildings, customers are looking for increasingly innovative and intelligent building solutions to help optimise and manage energy use, as well as enhance the well-being, productivity and performance of occupants."

"Expanding our collaboration with the ENSRV Group enables us to offer an unrivalled scope of building solutions to customers throughout the country," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
