Saudi contractor Al Khodari swings to Q3 loss
RIYADH, October 19, 2015
Saudi Arabia construction firm Abdullah Abdul Mohsin Al Khodari and Sons swung to a loss in the third-quarter, according to a bourse filing on Monday, hurt mainly by lower contracting revenue.
The company reported a loss of SR14.3 million ($3.81 million) in the three months to September 30, compared to a profit of SR15 million in the year-earlier period, according to the statement.
EFG Hermes forecast the firm would make a quarterly net profit of SR16.1 million.
Khodari's third-quarter revenue fell by 17.5 per cent year on year, while increases in costs and financial charges also impacted and offset higher income from other areas, the statement said.
New contract awards in the third quarter slumped to SR31 million, compared to SR554.6 million of new work in the corresponding period of 2014.
Its overall contract pipeline stood at SR4.67 billion at the end of September, up from SR3.36 billion at the same point last year.-Reuters
