Callison's Dubai project wins big award

Dhamani 1969, a boutique located in Dubai Mall featuring handcrafted jewellery and cut gems, has won the 2015 ICSC Vision-Innovation-Value-Achievement (Viva) "Best of the Best" Retail Store Award.
With an elegant marble and bronze façade, sophisticated custom surfaces and signature lighting treatments, the boutique has been created by global architecture and design firm Callison to celebrate a each of Dhamani's handcrafted masterpieces as individual works of art, said Amit Dhamani, CEO and managing director for Dhamani Jewels Group.
"Callison has been a true partner during the concept, design and construction process for Dhamani 1969, and we are delighted to share this honour with the firm," he added.
"From the beginning, we shared the same vision - to re-imagine the existing Dhamani boutique and create a design that would place Dhamani 1969 in the luxury jewellery elite," said Dave Scurlock, Callison design principal, who led the design for the project. "This Viva award is a humble recognition of our accomplishment together."
The Viva "Best of the Best" Awards recognises the most outstanding and innovative examples of shopping centres and retail stores in the categories of marketing, design and development, sustainability and community service.
ICSC is the premier global trade association of the shopping centre industry with more than 70,000 members in over 100 countries from around the world.
This year's For Viva, a four-person committee comprised of judges from a renowned retailer, retail design and commercial real estate firms, selected Dhamani 1969 as a "Best of the Best" global winner from a highly-selective pool of winning regional projects. – TradeArabia News Service
