New mall ... to have 100 international brand stores.
New mall set to open next year in Bahrain
MANAMA, May 31, 2015
Work on a new shopping complex in the Busaiteen district of Bahrain is scheduled for completion by early next year.
The complex, named Al Nakheel Plaza, will be located on a 8,585-sq-m plot of land, which is owned by the Muharraq Municipality, and will include a car park with 172 spaces and a new headquarters for the Muharraq Municipal Council, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
“The aim of this project is to increase investments in Muharraq,” said council chairman Mohammed Al Sinan.
“Busaiteen residents don’t have a mall in their area and have very few choices in Muharraq.
“The mall is expected to have nearly 100 international brand stores and many car parking slots to avoid overcrowding the area outside the municipality land.
“In return for using the land, we agreed with the investor to include a building for the council in his plans and furnish it as well.
“Offices for council members and employees are currently located in the municipality’s building, but it is much better to have our own building because it will help us focus more on our work.”
Meanwhile, residents of Station neighbourhood in Muharraq will be offered free car parking slots, which will be part of a new complex that has yet to be tendered.
“The space belongs to the municipality and was used as an automobile repair shop but we decided to turn it into a complex that people can benefit from,” explained Al Sinan.
“A tender will soon be launched for the project and only then will we be able to decide its date of completion.”
The multi-storey project is expected to include shops and a multiple-level car park. – TradeArabia News Service
