New solar plant to power Jordan’s Royal Court
AMMAN, May 19, 2015
A new grid connected solar power plant has been established inside the Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan’s King Abdullah II to cover the court's needs of such energy, reduce expenditure and preserve the environment, a report said.
The 5.6 megawatt plant was set up in line with the king’s directives to build similar projects of renewable energy, according to the Petra (Jordan News Agency) report.
The construction was referred to a company that participated in a tender to build the plant, and the project was implemented within eight months, Royal Court secretary general Yousef Issawi was quoted as saying in the report.
