Bonar Natpet showcases geosynthetics at gulfBID

MANAMA, May 14, 2015

Bonar Natpet, a joint venture company based in Saudi Arabia, is promoting its impressive range of geosynthetics at gulfBID, which is closing today (May 14) in Manama, Bahrain.

Bonar is a leading European producer of technical fabrics with capabilities in extrusion, nonwovens and wovens, focusing mainly on the geotextiles and agro textiles markets.

Natpet (National Petrochemical industrial company) is the global producer of propylene/polypropylene located in Yanbu industrial city in Saudi Arabia with a client base covering 62 countries.

Its product portfolio includes geotextiles, geocomposites, geogrids, geocells, vertical drains, erosion control systems and construction fibres.

“Bonar Natpet’s fibre production involves the extrusion of continuous filaments that are then cut into short staple fibres. Through the careful identification of fibre formulation, filament density and staple fibre length, we can ensure that the mechanical and hydraulic properties are maximised for each of our different nonwoven product ranges,” said a company spokesman.

The company produces nonwoven geotextiles using ultra-modern needle punching looms and a unique thermal bonding process.

“Our Bontec nonwoven geotextile production involves the processing of a uniform web of staple fibres that are bonded to form a finished sheet,” said the spokesman.

The advantages of Bontec geotextiles, he says, include intelligent installation techniques, cost and energy saving, and increased life-span of projects.

Bonar Geotextiles fulfil many functions including separation, where geotextile is used to prevent the intermixing of dissimilar soil layers; filtration, to allow the passage of fluids (most commonly water) while preventing the uncontrolled passage of soil particles; reinforcement, where the tensile properties of a geosynthetic material is used to resist stresses or contain deformations in soil structures; drainage, where a geosynthetic layer is used to collect and transport fluids within its own thickness; and protection, where the geosynthetic material acts as a stress reduction layer to prevent or reduce damage to an adjacent surface or layer.

Bonar Natpet’s plants operate in accordance with an ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance system and ISO 14001 environmental management system.

The products have been tested internally in fully equipped laboratory in accordance with the latest European and international standards.

With over 30 years of experience, Bonar Natpet said it offers a complete product range with vertically integrated production - from raw material to finished stock. It has a strong logistics service and key products to meet market needs. - TradeArabia News Service
