Naseej awards $8m contract for key Saar project
MANAMA, May 8, 2015
Bahrain-based real estate and infrastructure developer Naseej has awarded a BD3.1 million ($8.1 million) contract to Dar Al Khaleej for the Yasmeenat Saar residential project, it has emerged.
The appointment of Dar Al Khaleej as the main contractor follows a transparent tendering process, said the company, adding that it had invited several pre-qualified companies to present their credentials and proposals for the project.
The Yasmeenat Saar project comprises 27 upper mid-range villas starting at BD199,000, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
It is located just opposite the Saar Mall, featuring retail outlets and services within a developed neighbourhood.
The development is also accessible from Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway using the main Saar exit and is within walking distance from other key shopping outlets, strip malls and a major school, Naseej said in a statement.
The signing ceremony was attended by Naseej's managing director Mohammed Khalil Alsayed and Dar Al Khaleej managing director Sharif Ahmadi at the Naseej headquarters in Bahrain Financial Harbour.
"With this signing and the start of work, we have taken a major step towards the delivery of this project to the marketplace," Alsayed said.
"The homes are being built to the highest construction standards and offer layout plans that suit today's living preferences targeting the medium to high-end income brackets."
The project is expected to take 18 months to complete.
Ahmadi said Dar Al Khaleej was confident of delivering the project to Naseej within the time frame and meeting the highest standards expected.
"We possess extensive experience in the field of construction in Bahrain and have successfully completed a number of projects," he said.
Mohamed Salahuddin Consulting Engineering Bureau (MSCEB) is providing design and construction supervision services for the project and its vice chairman Thamer Salahuddin was also present at the signing. - TradeArabia News Service
