Aecom Oman, a global provider of professional technical and management support services, said it has won a contract from Duqm Development Company (DDC) to develop the masterplan and detail design for the second phase of its residential community Duqm Frontier Town.

Phase One of the project was completed in 2013 and the work is now progressing well on Phase Two, which will see key residential units, commercial space, hospital and an international school coming up on an area of 29.2 hectares, reported the Oman Observer, citing a senior official.

DDC chief executive Shaikh Ibrahim Sultan Al Hosni said Aecom will work in conjunction with the company towards the development of a dynamic and economically viable masterplan.

The first stage of the study includes the feasibility study and multiple concept masterplans. The following stages will include detailed masterplan, detail design, preparation of tender packages and supervision of the construction contracts, he added.
