Mediclinic to build new hospital in Dubai

DUBAI, April 26, 2015

Mediclinic Middle East, a leading private healthcare group in Dubai, UAE, has announced plans to construct a new general hospital on a 500,000-sq-ft area at Umm Suqeim Road between the junctions of Al Khail Road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

It is part of Mediclinic International, one of the 10 largest private hospital groups in the world with 52 hospitals in southern Africa, 16 in Switzerland and 12 healthcare facilities in the UAE.

To be built at a cost of Dh700 million ($190.5 million), the Mediclinic Parkview Hospital will be ready for operations by the end of 2018.

It will provide international standard healthcare services to the southern area of Dubai, said a statement from the healthcare group.

Initially, the hospital will have a capacity of over 150 beds and six operating theatres, it added.

Employing more than 800 staff, the hospital will offer in- and outpatient services  across a full range of disciplines (with the exception of oncology which will be housed at the new wing of Mediclinic City Hospital due for completion in mid-2016).

David Hadley, the chief executive of Mediclinic Middle East, said: "This new hospital will bring the same level of service and treatment that our patients have come to expect from Mediclinic's existing hospitals in Dubai Healthcare City and Al Garhoud, but in a far more convenient location for those living in New Dubai."-TradeArabia News Service
