ISG names country director for Qatar

DOHA, April 7, 2015

Leading construction services company ISG Middle East has appointed Michael Pickles as the country director for Qatar, which signals the company’s increased activity level in the market, especially in the corporate office and hospitality sectors.

An industry veteran, Pickles has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and has been operating in the Qatar construction sector since 2008 where he worked for Habtoor Leighton Group as senior quantity surveyor (QS) managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering and then as commercial manager.

He was later promoted to the post of country procurement manager, said a statement from ISG.

Pickles had previously worked for ISG in the UK as a commercial manager where he handled HSBC commercial office projects in Canary Wharf. He has extensive experience in H&H, corporate office and retail sectors.

He holds a Master’s Degree in International Construction Management and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in construction management.

ISG Middle East was established in 2008 and soon after received the ‘Contractor of the Year’ Award at the 2011 and 2013 Commercial Interior Design Awards.

The company is particularly active in the corporate office, leisure and hospitality sectors and has project teams working within some of the most recognised landmarks and master plans in the region, such as Abu Dhabi Global Market Square, Adnec, DIFC, Nation Towers Abu Dhabi and Yas Marina Circuit.-TradeArabia News Service
