Lusail City ... one of Qatar's high-profile developments.

Qatar developer to build four new schools

DOHA, April 6, 2015

Lusail City Real Estate Development Company has signed an agreement with the Qatar education ministry to build four new schools on a sprawling 75,000 m area at its development in Doha, said a report.

Lusail City, spread over 38 sq km, is master-planned to accommodate 200,000 residents, 170,000 workers and 80,000 daily visitors, reported The Gulf Times.

Its plan is to eventually build 26 schools that can accommodate 26,000 students. Of these, five will be independent ones, it stated.

Two of the schools will have kindergarten levels all the way to secondary level, while the third will be an elementary school. All the schools will start operations in 2018/2019 academic year.

Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi and Qatari Diar CEO Khaled Mohamed al-Sayed witnessed the signing of the agreement.

The Central Zone, also known as the heart of Lusail City,  comprises the Commercial Waterfront District that forms the silhouette of its marina design, the Lusail Towers District and Plaza that together form the face of Lusail City as the financial centre, and the Commercial Boulevard.
