Saudi Ma'aden restarts ammonia plant

RIYADH, April 1, 2015

A subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Mining Co (Ma'aden) has restarted an ammonia plant after a brief shutdown for repairs at a cooling facility, Ma'aden said on Wednesday.

Ma'aden had previously said it expected the plant, at Ras Al Khair, to be shut for almost 10 days from March 23.

There was no impact on production of diammonium phosphate, a fertiliser for which ammonia is a feedstock, Ma'aden reiterated in a statement.

Maaden Phosphate Co (MPC) is owned 70 per cent by Ma'aden while Saudi Basic Industries holds 30 per cent.-Reuters
