Saudi homes without title deeds to get power supply

Riyadh, August 31, 2014

Saudi Municipal and Rural Affairs ministry in a major move has granted permission for the provision of power supply to even those houses which do not have title deeds.

Minister Prince Mansour bin Miteb ordered municipalities across the Kingdom to provide utilities, such as electricity connection, to all houses regardless of ownership status, reported the Arab News.

Till now, the houses without title deeds and other ownership documents had been barred from electricity connection.

A royal decree was then issued approving the request made by the minister for provision of electricity to all houses.

However, the minister warned that there will be no power connection for those houses built on publicly owned or illegally encroached land, the report added.
