$20bn Kuwait Metro to have 61 stations

The planned Kuwait Metro project will have 61 stations on three railway lines covering all areas and governorates of the country, a report said.
Work on the $20-billion metro project is expected to be started in 2017, the Arab Times said citing a report in Kuwait's Al-Shahed newspaper.
The project will be implemented on a public-private partnership basis, the report said.
The first railway line will cover 23.7 km starting from Salwa area and end at Kuwait University, passing through 19 stations. The second line will cover 21 km from Hawally area and to Kuwait City, passing through 27 stations. The third line will be 24 km long from the airport and to Abdullah Al-Mubarak area, passing through 15 stations, it said.
