Manama, July 23, 2014

Work on Bahrain's first school integrating modern green technology is 60 per cent complete.

Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi yesterday (July 22) unveiled the world-class project at Wadi Al Seel, in the Southern Governorate, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The state-of-the-art primary intermediate school for girls will cover 28,673sqm in a project costing BD3.7 million ($9.9 million).

The Works Ministry has drawn up engineering designs and will supervise construction.

Once completed, the school will accommodate up to 1,000 students. It will include 33 classes - 20 for primary students - multi-purpose labs, a library and other key facilities. A sport auditorium, covering 900sqm will also be built as well as a cafeteria and playgrounds.
