RAK firm picks ‘green’ architects for villa project

Ras Al Khaimah, July 1, 2014

Ras Al Khaimah-based Al Hamra Real Estate Development said it has appointed world-leading specialists in sustainable development A++, as architects for its 150 new limited edition luxury villas.

The new residence will boast no less than 11 mansions, and is to be constructed on the group’s Falcon Island site, reaffirming Al Hamra’s growing reputation for setting the benchmark for high-end living in the Gulf.

Through exclusive partnerships with interior design group, Luxury Living, and home furnishing brands Bentley Home, Fendi Casa, and Kenzo Maison, each of the villas will combine sustainable technologies with quality craftsmanship, said a statement from the UAE developer.

They will also be built in line with ‘Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’ guidelines, as Al Hamra vies to become the first real estate development in the GCC region, and one of only a handful worldwide to achieve the coveted Platinum LEED Certification.

On the appointment, Benoy Kurien, the general manager at Al Hamra, said: "Falcon Island is the ultimate in sustainable waterfront living. We’re not just on par with some of the world’s best projects we’re actually topping them. These luxury residences will be built to the highest architectural and environmental standards, and surrounded by the finest in hospitality and leisure amenities the region has to offer."

“Homes that epitomise luxury mean buyers will acquire a residence that provides a genuine resort experience surrounded by the world’s finest hotel brands; with a golf course, and marina right on their doorstep. We’re confident that what we have on offer here is something unique in terms of luxury, location, and sustainability,” he added.

Paolo Colombo & Carlo Colombo, the owners of A++, said that no stone will be left unturned when it comes to designing and engineering one of the most exclusive developments of its kind anywhere in the world, on Falcon Island.

“Without doubt the visionary minds behind Al Hamra Real Estate Development and the innovative approach of A++, will enable us to achieve excellence and develop a highly innovative sustainable residential offering. Together, we will work to provide the market with the highest standard of living for today and future generations,” they observed.

According to them, this ambition will start at the building site itself, and extend to the the shape of the structures, choice and use of renewable resources, and home automation systems.

"Meanwhile, one of the sites most impressive features will be its energy consumption record, with power for cooling homes; street lights, and water desalination to be sourced from an innovative onsite photovoltaic bridge and solar cooling plant," they added.

Based in Switzerland and with branches around the world, A++ has established itself as a global front-runner when it comes to fulfilling the demands of sustainable living, with modern architecture that combines uncompromising luxury and design.-TradeArabia News Service
