Saudi plans to build 11 new stadiums

Saudi Arabia has embarked on an ambitious plan to build 11 giant sports stadiums across the kingdom each with a capacity of 45,000 spectators, said a report.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has ordered the construction of these world-class stadiums in the provinces of Madinah, Qassim, Eastern Province, Asir, Tabuk, Hail, Northern Border Province, Jazan, Najran, Baha and Al-Jouf, reported the Arab News.
The Saudi King last month opened the mammoth King Abdullah Sports City constructed on a 3 million sq m area in Jeddah. The mega facility also includes a 60,000-capacity football stadium, which comfortably meets the FIFA standards, the report stated.
The sports city boasts of several unique features that surpass many of the world's best, the report added.
