Arabtec appoints internal audit chief

Arabtec Holding, a leading engineering and construction group of companies, has appointed Bassam El Ghawi as chief internal audit officer, reporting to the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee.
El Ghawi brings to his new role 19 years of practice in external and internal audit departments at both private and public sectors. He joins Arabtec from the Dubai-based Union Properties, where he served as chief audit executive since June 2011.
El Ghawi is no stranger to Arabtec, having served as chief audit executive for Arabtec Holding from 2006 to May 2011. During that stint, he founded the Internal Audit Department within the Group.
