Emrill wins Dubai Chamber CSR Label
Dubai, June 18, 2012
Emrill, a leading facilities management (FM) provider in the UAE, became the first FM company to be awarded the Dubai Chamber CSR Label for operating a business based on sustainable and responsible corporate practices.
The CSR recognition was awarded to Emrill after a strenuous audit of their internal policies, programmes and initiatives in several areas including employee satisfaction, environmental impact, community and social efforts, to name a few.
“Emrill is extremely honoured to be the first facilities management company to be awarded this prestigious label by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. As industry leaders we want to set the path for the sector to follow,” said Ben Churchill, managing director, Emrill.
“It is imperative our sector is more conscious of the businesses’ impact internally and externally. Our CSR based practices and policies have increased our ability to attract and retain the best workforce with the added benefits of an enhanced brand value and improved financial performance,” he added.
Emrill’s policies and strategies are founded on enduring CSR initiatives and have proved effective in paving the way for improved short term and long term corporate performance.
Emrill has used every opportunity to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, from achieving a record 10 million safe man hours, to reducing energy usage in all communities they service, developing staff skills within the company and offering employment to the underprivileged.
Emrill’s recent initiatives have been unique in targeting the global community while also addressing some of the biggest environmental challenges faced today, Churchill said.
The FM company successfully launched a unique initiative with the Foundation of Goodness, a Sri Lanka-based charity offering employment opportunities to the underprivileged that are trained and recommended by the charity organisation. This first of its kind initiative benefits the unprivileged immensely as they don’t have to incur any agency costs for placement, visas and travel.
Churchill also said the CSR Label allowed its customers great comfort and confidence to know their facilities management provider of choice operates under audited and certified ethical, socially and environmentally responsible policies and practices.
“I would like to thank the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and congratulates all the companies awarded the honour this year. This achievement would not have been possible if not for the efforts of each and every one of our 4,000 Emrill staff,” added Churchill. – TradeArabia News Service
