Bahrain rebuilding 5 mosques
Manama, March 15, 2012
Five mosques demolished during last year's unrest are being rebuilt, said Bahrain’s Information Affairs Authority (IAA).
"The government started building five mosques mentioned in the (Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry) report," the IAA said on its official Twitter account.
It said more mosques will be rebuilt after co-ordination with relevant authorities.
Those under construction include Umm Al Banin Mosque, Imam Ali Mosque and Al Baqia'a Mosque.
The commission in its report last November said 30 places of worship were demolished by authorities during unrest, but only five had been built with the requisite royal deed and building permit.
It said the rest violated royal decree 19 of 2002. – TradeArabia News Service
