Manama, October 5, 2011
Bahrain has launched a string of key development projects benefiting three villages and the southern region, with work set to start on 800 housing units.
The three villages in the project include Jaw, Askar and Al Dur.
HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa gave instructions to construct four new schools - two in Jaw village and two in Askar - each accommodating primary, intermediate and secondary standards.
He issued directives to start work on a 300-bed general hospital benefiting the three villages and the southern region.
During a visit to the area, he gave orders to build a health clinic in Askar and revamp the existing one in Jaw.
The land between Jaw and Askar villages has also been demarcated for housing projects which would form the nucleus of the Southern Town.
HRH the Premier instructed authorities concerned to build a petrol station to serve Jaw, Askar and Al Dur villagers.
He was briefed on electrical and water services as well as infrastructure development needs.
He gave directives to ensure families and tribes remain in the villages and preserve the deep-rooted historic fabric characterising their areas. – TradeArabia News Service
