Bahrain sanitary project work in progress

Bahrain Minister of Works Essam Bin Abdulla Khalaf inspected progress of the BD2.2 million ($5.83 million) Al Dair Sanitary Project being implemented by Bahrain Motors Company.

The project work, which serves blocks number 231, 232 and 233 in Al Dair area of Bahrain, involves construction of 29.2 m-long main sewage pipes, 2,246 inspection chambers and three pumping stations.

The project is being supervised by Sanitary Engineering Planning and Projects Directorate. The work on the project began in May 2006 and is due for completion this month.

Last week, Khalaf, accompanied by a number of ministry officials, visited various roads project sites in Muharraq.

The minister also inspected the progress achieved in Al Ghous Highway Revamp project in Busaiteen being implemented by Ministry in Muharraq Governorate. The work started early this year and is expected to take 48 weeks for completion.

The BD1.06 million project is being implemented by the contractor Haji Hassan Ali Group and includes revamping Avenue 11 and Road 2651.

The Minister later inspected the road leading to King Hamad University Hospital, which is an extension to Al Ghous Highway, and is now 47 per cent complete.

The 750m long road is expected to be ready for use this month and is being implemented by Al Door Excavation and Building Contracting at a cost of BD495,979.

Once completed, this road will contribute to easing traffic flow to KHUH, and thus serve the Ministry’s objective to provide high quality services and contribute effectively to the achievement of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 objectives-TradeArabia News Service
