IronPlanet expands ME operations

Dublin, February 17, 2011

IronPlanet (www.ironplanet.com), a leading online marketplace for used heavy equipment, is expanding its operations in the Middle East based in Dubai.

“Dubai provides us good access to IronPlanet customers across the Gulf region and we look forward to providing these customers a better way to buy and sell their used equipment through IronPlanet’s global used equipment marketplace,” said Jeff Jeter, executive vice president at IronPlanet.

Establishing IronPlanet’s operations in Dubai coincides with the first auction to feature equipment from the Middle East on February 23. IronPlanet conducts auctions almost every week, selling equipment from North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and now the Middle East, to buyers around the world.

Unlike traditional auctions, sellers at IronPlanet achiever faster and more profitable sales through weekly auctions, fair market value for equipment, low selling costs, and a global audience of buyers. IronPlanet sells the equipment from the consignor’s location, eliminating transportation costs for the seller. The detailed inspection reports and exclusive IronClad Assurance attract bidders from around the world and enable buyers to bid with a high degree of confidence.

“IronPlanet has been successfully selling equipment into the Middle East and has an established customer base throughout the entire region,” said John O’Sullivan, managing director for IronPlanet Middle East.

“Our new operations in Dubai will create the local presence necessary to quickly respond to customer needs and provide one-on-one support from a multilingual, local staff of representatives as we approach our first auction in February.”-TradeArabia News Service
