Alessa ties up with British manufacturer

Dubai, November 24, 2010

Saudi-based Alessa Industries said it has signed a deal with Eaton-Williams, a leading British manufacturing company specialising in data centers and server room cooling solutions.

A leading integrated industrial group based in Riyadh, Alessa has the highest sales volume of home air-conditioners in the Middle East, and currently enjoys over 28 per cent market share in AC and refrigeration in Saudi.

Nawaf Almasoud, president of Alessa Advanced Project Company and managing director of Huntair Arabia, and Dimitri Rocchiccioli, CEO of Eaton-Williams, signed the deal at the Alessa stand on the sidelines of the Big-5 expo.

Dr Abdullah Abdul Karim, managing director of Alessa Industries was present at the signing ceremony along with a number of senior officials from both companies.

On the agreement, Dr Karim said: “Alessa Industries seeks to continuously develop its operations and introduce premium technology in the field of air-conditioning and refrigeration.

'The agreement will not only contribute to bringing into Saudi advanced technology in the data center sector on which a majority of companies and government and private institutions rely, but also facilitate the growth of manufacturing units in the Kingdom and the distribution of our products throughout the region.'

'This is another milestone for the Alessa group in its ongoing commitment to nationalise industries,' Dr Karim said.

Almasoud said the Alessa was driving both investments and partnerships to strengthen its presence in the GCC countries and increase market share to 30 per cent in the next two years to $150 million.

'Platforms such as the Big-5 offer us significant business leads into emerging markets that hold high potential for our products,' the official said.

Alessa Industries had recently expanded its investment in the manufacturing sector, restructured its operations, developed systems that improve efficiency, and deployed some of the best resources.

The group has also launched new companies including Huntair Arabia and successfully attracted exceptional national expertise.

“The Big-5 is the right forum to reinforce our position as the region’s leading manufacturer of air-conditioning and refrigeration products. The exhibition also allows us to share our breakthrough technology with a number of attendees and participants and reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a centre for technology in the region,” remarked Rocchiccioli.

Alessa operates through a strong network of 25 distributors and exports products to more than 70 countries.-TradeArabia News Service
