Cairo, October 14, 2010
Egypt-based Orascom Housing Communities (OHC) has won the Best Community Experience award for its Haram City at the recently concluded Affordable Housing Development Summit Middle East in Bahrain.
“We are honoured to be recognized for the pioneering steps that Haram City has taken in addressing the needs of the Egyptian community,” said Omar Elhitamy, managing director of OHC.
“The award recognises the exceptional efforts we’ve invested in developing not only a housing project, but a truly integrated community incorporating local heritage and lifestyle into its master plan. Developing such housing communities is crucial if we are to truly make progress in solving the housing challenges that Egypt faces,” he added.
Haram City has completed 10,500 housing units, housing about 5,000 families, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
