Europe suppliers eye ME construction market
Dubai, July 5, 2010
The Middle East region presents many opportunities for manufacturers of equipment for the construction industry from Europe looking to expand their operations following the downturn, said an industry expert.
“We are focusing a lot of attention on the Arab markets at the moment,” said Jens Bollerup, managing director and CEO of Fibo Intercon, a leading Danish supplier to concrete industry.
“We want to strengthen our position in the Mena region, extend our representative network and establish our own sales organisation in the UAE to capitalise on the ongoing opportunities here,” he added.
The company, which manufactures and delivers mobile, semi-mobile and stationary concrete batching plants as well as production equipment and complete production systems globally, is participating in the upcoming Big 5 PMV, the leading exhibition for the construction industry, running from November 22 to 25 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Fibo Intercon will also launch its updated versions of their mobile batching plants B1200 and M2200 at the event.
“The global economic slowdown provided an opportunity for us to be more innovative and ‘think outside the box’. We look forward to presenting the mobile batching plants at the show, which have been adapted to meet the requirements of the Mena market,” said Bollerup.
BEST Tyre Protection Sealant, a Greek company which manufactures and exports chemical additives for use in heavy duty vehicles, and exports them to North America, Europe, North Africa and the Far East, said in comparison to other construction markets, the Middle East is showing positive signs of recovery, said its CEO Anthony Peter Fragatos.
“Although the Middle East construction industry has been affected by the global economic downturn, the region is still the most promising market in the world compared to the situation in Europe and the USA,” said Fragatos.
The company will launch three innovative products and look for exclusive distributors at the Big 5 PMV, he added. – TradeArabia News Service
