Aldar awards Al Falah project contracts
Abu Dhabi, June 15, 2010
Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabi's leading property development company, has awarded three key infrastructure contracts for the Al Falah project.
Al Falah is one of the new UAE national housing communities which form part of the government housing initiative as set out in Plan Abu Dhabi 2030, said a statement.
The development, launched in 2009, will provide 5,000 homes for UAE families across five villages, each with approximately 970 villas plus three schools, mosques, and neighbourhood retail, health and leisure facilities.
Located to the east of Abu Dhabi International Airport and the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway, Al Falah has been designed as a practical and sustainable community within a development area of approximately 12 million square metres.
Infrastructure contracts for the residential villages have been awarded to Hilal Bil Badi & Partners (Hilalco) for Village 1, Ghantoot Transport & General Contracting Establishment for Villages 2 and 3 and Al Jaber Transport and General Contracting LLC for Villages 4 and 5.
The infrastructure required to serve the Al Falah community includes over 178 km of roads, 198.5 km of water networks, 149.5 km of sewer networks, a medium and low voltage power network and up to 100 km of fibre optic communication cabling.
Talal Al Dhiyebi, director of planning and infrastructure, said: "We are delighted to announce the award of these three major contracts to deliver the key infrastructure for the Al Falah project, which we are developing in partnership with the government of Abu Dhabi. This is a further step forward in our mission to build sustainable communities to cater to the growth needs of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and in particular, increase housing availability for UAE families." - TradeArabia News Service
