German rail and logistics group Deutsche Bahn is set to sign a contract worth 'billions of euros' to build railways in Qatar and Bahrain, said a company spokesman.

'A contract will be signed today with Qatar and the value of the deal will be in the billions of euros,' the spokesman was quoted as saying in the Gulf Daily News on Friday.

A German daily had earlier reported that the contract would be worth 16.7 billion euros ($24.8 billion). The contract would include a network in Doha and high-speed lines to Doha airport and to Bahrain.-TradeArabia News Service
