Baniyas unveils big project plans
Abu Dhabi, October 4, 2009
Baniyas Investment and Development Company (BID), the investment arm of Bani Yas Sports Club, has announced plans to launch a series of projects, including apartment buildings and a residential tower before the end of 2009.
BID plans to launch new residential buildings within Phase II of Bawabat Al Sharq – the Dh3 billion ($817 million) world-class, mixed-use development currently under construction in Bani Yas City, Abu Dhabi.
The company also plans to launch a 22 storey residential tower at Mohammed Bin Zayed City, approximately 24 km from downtown Abu Dhabi.
Baniyas Investment and Development will be exhibiting their star project Bawabat Al Sharq, a destination of excellence, at Cityscape Dubai.
In his comments, Wael Tawil, chief executive officer of Baniyas Investment and Development, said: “We will soon be launching new apartment buildings in Phase II of our iconic Bawabat Al Sharq project – which will extend a distinctive lifestyle of comfort and indulgence, once completed."
"In addition, the standalone residential tower project in Mohammed Bin Zayed City will offer a selection of studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, equipped with the best amenities, apart from three levels of basement parking facilities,"
Tawil noted.
During Cityscape Dubai, BID will be promoting Souk Al Megnas, a traditional souk within the destination mall of Bawabat Al Sharq. The distinctive souk will be spread across 4500 sq m, nearly 8 per cent of the mall’s gross leasable area.
Scheduled for inauguration in December 2010, the Souk will add to the varied retail experience on offer at the shopping centre.
The destination mall, covering nearly 70,000 sq m, will feature 339 high profile retail outlets of fashion wear, electronics, neighborhood services, accessory outlets, jewelers and Carrefour hypermarket.
The mall will be spread across two floors and will include 2,245 parking spaces and 22 food outlets inclusive of restaurants and cafes. Construction has already commenced and it is expected to be officially inaugurated in December 2010.
BID recently announced partnerships with Carrefour, Wanasa Family Entertainment Center and Grand Cinemas for the mall. The company has also signed up renowned Australian design firm, Saunders Global, for the mall’s interior design.-TradeArabia News Service
