Enpark to co-host green building conference
Dubai, September 22, 2009
Energy and Environment Park (Enpark), a sustainable community model for commercial and residential use and a member of Tecom Investments, will coorganise ‘Architecture and Daylight’, the third module in the Green Building conference series.
Hosted in collaboration with Sesam Business Consultant and Epoc Messe Frankfurt, the event will be held on September 29 and 30 at the Dubai Knowledge Village Conference Centre. It will comprise a series of presentations, open debates, a training workshop and project tours focusing on key elements of the green building industry.
‘Architecture and Daylight’ will look at energy-efficient lighting design and technology in the UAE. Regional and international speakers will present case studies on leading projects in the UAE, some of which will be visited by the conference delegates.
“We see the necessity to carry these informative sessions with industry players to keep the momentum of knowledge spreading as well as to position Enpark’s business partners in the local business community,” stated Ali Bin Towaih, executive director of Enpark.
The carbon footprint of the event will be offset through sponsors EcoVentures, a business partner at Enpark. The company will conduct a post-event greenhouse gas emissions assessment and purchase certified carbon offsets to neutralise the unavoidable carbon footprint.
The ‘Architecture and Daylight’ event will also be supported by Fraunhofer Middle East, the Association of Professional Interior Designers (Apid), and European Photonics Industry Consortium.
Enpark recently coorganised two similar events – ‘Solar Days’ on renewable energy systems, and ‘Water Days’ on sustainable water management. In November this year, it will continue the Green Building series with a module on ‘Integrated Green Building Design’.-TradeArabia News Service
