Emirates Thermostone wins key Dubai projects

Dubai , May 26, 2009

Emirates Thermostone said it has secured Dh9 million ($2.4 million) contracts to supply Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) construction materials for 4 development projects in Dubai.

Emirates Thermostone is a wholly-owned subsidiary of M’Sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments.

The projects include Jumeirah Park Villas, Kingdom of Sheba, Jumeirah Golf Estates, and the Tecom residential project.

Ajay Mathur, general manager of Emirates Thermostone, said, “We are pleased to secure these prestigious contracts. Emirates Thermostone has bagged several important projects since the launch of its second production line in 2008, and we expand our portfolio further with these new projects.”

'With the construction industry currently going through a downturn, contractors in the UAE are actively exploring ways to bring down building costs and ensure project viability,' he pointed out.

'As a result, cost-effective materials such as AAC blocks have become much in demand, and there is greater awareness today within the contracting industry about the competitive advantages offered by AAC materials,” Mathur added.

“Emirates Thermostone, as the region’s leading manufacturer and supplier of AAC blocks, has naturally been able to take advantage of this market situation.”

AAC is a thermal and lightweight building block made from natural raw materials. Its economical, environment-friendly and lightweight characteristics have enhanced its international reputation as a preferred construction material for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

Emirates Thermostone operates one of the largest and most technologically advanced AAC production plants in the Middle East, providing the region’s premier developments with an annual supply of up to 15 million specially designed blocks, slabs and panels.-TradeArabia News Service
